Joey Graceffa is giving insight into his health journey.
More than two years after seeing a new spot appear on his nose, the YouTuber shared he has been diagnosed with Basal cell carcinoma.
“So I have skin cancer,” Graceffa said in a TikTok video posted Aug. 8, which showed him with a red spot on his nose. “Um, that’s fun! No, it’s not fun at all, actually. You can see it right there on my nose. It looks really crazy right now because I had to get a biopsy done to determine it was skin cancer.”
The 33-year-old he had noticed the mark on his nose “for maybe the past year and a half to two years” and had had several dermatologists look at it but had initially received a different diagnosis.
“Both have said it was a broken blood vessel,” he noted. “But I recently went back in because when I was in Japan, it scabbed over and I was like, ‘Hmm, why’s it going that?’ and she looked closer and she was like, ‘Yeah, I kinda wanna do a biopsy on this.'”
