The San Francisco 49ers are awaiting word about knee injuries suffered by pass rushers Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos in the team’s preseason finale.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said both players “most likely” left the game with knee sprains in the 24-24 road tie Friday against the Las Vegas Raiders, but MRI exams would provide an exact diagnosis.

The MRIs were set for Saturday.

Floyd’s injury occurred when his right knee collided with the left calf of defensive tackle Maliek Collins. He walked off the field with an assist from medical personnel.

The 31-year-old Floyd has not missed a game since the 2017 season.

How the first-quarter injury to Gross-Matos occurred was unclear.

Both players returned to the sidelines after being evaluated.

Floyd and Gross-Matos were brought in as free agents to assist Nick Bosa along the defensive line.

Floyd signed a two-year, $20 million deal in March. The No. 9 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Bears, he has played with Chicago (2016-19), the Los Angeles Rams (2020-22) and Buffalo Bills (2023).

In 121 career games (120 starts), he has 370 tackles and 58 sacks, including 10.5 last season.

Gross-Matos, 26, was the No. 38 overall pick of the Carolina Panthers in the 2020 draft. He signed a two-year, $18 million contract with the 49ers in March.

He has appeared in 55 games (32 starts) with 142 tackles and 13 sacks.
