College football matchups are going to be BIG this year.
With four new teams joining the Big 12 conference this year, the league has grown to 16 teams for the first time in history. That includes five teams that ranked in the AP Top 25 rankings. It’s anyone’s conference this year, but claiming the championship means fighting through a conference stacked with top-ranked teams. A roster as packed as this is bound to deliver plenty of surprises, intense matchups and edge-of-your-seat action no matter who you’re cheering for.
Like in previous years, college football fans can catch most Big 12 games on ESPN. But changes across the other conferences mean that some of the biggest games of the season will be airing on different networks. Keep reading to find out how to watch every Big 12 college football game, whether or not you have cable.
When does the 2024 Big 12 Conference football season start?
The 2024 Big 12 college football conference kicks off with four opening matches on August 29 this year. Watch as UCF takes on New Hampshire, Colorado takes on North Dakota State, Kansas takes on Lindenwood and Utah faces Southern Utah.
What channel are the Big 12 college football games on?
This year, football fans will be able to catch the majority of Big 12 games on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. For matchups against teams from other conferences, like the Big 10, the network with broadcasting rights for that conference will be airing the game. That means some of your favorite games will be on Fox, FS1, FS2, CBS, NBC or the SEC Network this year. Check back for updates on which channel to tune into for the matchups you care about.
How to watch Big 12 college football in 2024 without cable
Sling
A Sling TV subscription will get you the most coverage of the Big 12 conference for the least cost. You’ll want to get the Orange + Blue plan ($55 per month) and then add on Sports Extra ($15 per month). That’s a total of $70 per month but it gets you access to over 65 channels. That includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, Fox, FS1 and FS2 where the majority of Big 12 games will air. It also includes specialty channels like the SEC Network, ACC Network and Big Ten Network. Even if you’re not cheering for any of the teams in those conferences, those will be the networks airing any matchups between your favorite Big 12 team and teams from other conferences.
ESPN+
While an ESPN+ subscription alone won’t get you the most coverage, it’s the cheapest way to catch a large number of Big 12 games this season. As one of the Big 12 conference’s main broadcast partners, ESPN has already confirmed that 15 of the games over the next four weeks will be streaming on ESPN+. While the rest of the schedule isn’t out yet, fans are likely to see a good chunk of future games streaming on the platform, too. An ESPN+ subscription costs just $10.99 per month.
Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV is another great deal for sports fans. Now that it’s bundled with Disney+ and ESPN+, this subscription gives you access to ESPN, ESPN2, Fox, FS1, CBS, NBC and specialty channels like the Big Ten Network, ACCN and SECN. That means you can watch just about every game in one place this season. Outside of the Big 12 Conference, Hulu + Live TV also includes full access to Disney+ and dozens of premium TV channels. This plan will cost $76.99 per month, but you can try it free for three days if you sign up now.
FuboTV
With the FuboTV Pro plan — the platform’s entry-level plan — you already get access to all the channels you’ll need to watch the majority of the Big 12 college football games this season. ESPN, Fox, CBS, NBC, ACC Network, and the Big Ten Network are all included in that base plan. You will need to grab either the Sports Lite or Sports Plus add-on to get the SEC Network where some Big 12 games will be airing. However, only a few games will be airing there, so check whether any of the teams you’re following are included in that short list before springing for the add-ons. Prices start at $79.99 per month for FuboTV Pro, but higher tier plans are available that pack even more channels and premium streaming services into a single package. If you’re not sure about the price, you can sign up today and get a seven-day free trial before committing to the monthly fee.
