Eva Mendes is one happy mama. The Hitch actress shared a message of gratitude on Instagram after attending the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with Ryan Gosling and the couple’s two children, showing her heartfelt appreciation for the public’s respect of their daughters’ privacy.

On Sunday, the The Place Beyond the Pines co-stars stepped out with daughters Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 8. The family of four was in the stands at the Bercy Arena as they watched the women’s gymnastics uneven bars final, where Team USA gymnast Suni Lee brought home the bronze.

Gosling, 43, and Mendes, 50, kept things low-key as they sat in the stands each wearing sunglasses. For his part, the Barbie star rocked a green Olympics hat and a red and blue flannel. Meanwhile, Mendes looked casual in a black dress.

“I love @nbcolympics didn’t cut away to the kids ! And most sites blurred their faces so mama bear is happy about that,” Mendes later wrote in a comment on Instagram. “It felt so good to be there and feel unified with people.”

Mendes’ comment came after she shared a private moment that highlighted her “sleep marks” while enjoying the city’s early morning light from her hotel. In her caption, she admitted that her “wall goes up” when she sees photographers out on the street.

Mendes went on to clarify that her statement wasn’t meant as a complaint.

“They were great about not posting the kids so I’m a grateful mama bear,” she added in another comment.

Mendes and Gosling have largely kept their years-long romance out of the public eye since its start in 2011.

In a recent interview with WSJ. Magazine, Gosling elaborated on just how much his life has changed amid his relationship with Mendes and how he now takes his family into account before accepting any role.

“I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place,” he shared in May. “This moment is what I feel like trying to read the room at home and feel like what is going to be best for all of us. The decisions I make, I make them with Eva and we make them with our family in mind first.”

In another interview with Men’s Health, Gosling referred to Mendes as his “hero.”

“I often think about what’s going to matter to me on my deathbed that I did and that I didn’t do,” Gosling told the magazine in April. “It puts things into perspective. It always comes back to family first. I don’t think I’ll regret anything professionally, but I do think when it comes to Eva and the girls, they come first.”
