Seldom does an article end at the headline, but not much more needs to be said, as nobody wants to see UFC legend Conor McGregor fight Logan Paul.

Over the last few days, rumors have spread that McGregor would be making his return to the UFC to fight Featherweight Champion Illia Topuria. Early Tuesday morning, McGregor dismissed those rumors

Topuria dismissed them as well.

Instead of making his long-awaited return to the UFC, which was most recently nixed after his June 29th fight with Michael Chandler fell through, McGregor is now calling out Logan Paul.

Despite UFC boss Dana White continuing to hype up something massive on the horizon in 2025, it’s becoming increasingly clear that McGregor has very little interest in making an actual return to the Octagon.

Calling out Logan Paul just furthers this gut feeling that McGregor is done taking the fight game seriously.

Now don’t get me wrong. There’s no doubt that in a world where this actually happens, it would be absolutely massive. Logan has done an incredible job reviving his career as a creator and has become one of the WWE’s brightest stars.

But here’s the thing. He’s not a fighter. If anything, a fight between Jake Paul and McGregor would at least be a smidge more interesting, especially coming off of the heels of the massive event with Mike Tyson.

Jake confirmed McGregor’s post, stating that his promotion company, Most Valuable Promotions, would be willing to explore a collaboration with McGregor as long as the UFC was directly involved or would sign off on it.

Logan’s last boxing match was an absolute clown show against Dillon Danis, who clearly did not take the fight nearly as seriously as he took the promotion. The elder Paul then retired from boxing and decided to seriously pursue the WWE, which he has been very good at.

A boxing match, or MMA match, with McGregor does very little for anybody besides make everybody rich. Which, at the end of the day, is really what this entire influencer fighting space is all about.

Again, there’s no denying that McGregor’s celebrity paired with either Paul brother would get massive eyeballs. But what’s the point?

The Pauls are both well over six feet tall. McGregor is just five feet nine inches. The Pauls both weigh over 200 pounds. McGregor was UFC Champion in the featherweight and lightweight divisions.

Logan did an exhibition boxing match with Floyd Mayweather in 2021. It was a massive event that was ultimately very boring. A fight with McGregor (who had his own exhibition with Mayweather in 2017) would likely be much of the same.

Nobody wants to see this. At 36 years old, McGregor’s chances of participating in meaningful fights in the UFC are dwindling quickly.
